ruralMED Management Resources, a rural healthcare consultation and management firm, has expanded its team and support services by hiring Amber Ackerson as In-house Counsel to their growing team. Ackerson will provide a vital role on the ruralMED team by providing legal counsel to ruralMED Management Resources and the ruralMED Health Cooperative.
“We have several opportunities opening up with both ruralMED Management Resources and the ruralMED Health Cooperative,” said Josh VanBoening, Chief Executive Officer. “Amber’s addition to assist with legal advice to our organization and be available to our cooperative members is a great fit for our mission to provide leadership, resources and support to rural healthcare organizations.”
Prior to joining the ruralMED team, Ackerson was the Senior Vice President Human Capital/General Counsel/Corporate Secretary at Orthman Manufacturing, Inc., and practiced in General Practice at Heldt & McKeone Law Office in Lexington, Nebraska.
Ackerson earned her Juris Doctorate, with Distinction from the University of Nebraska – College of Law after receiving her Bachelor of Science in Business and Sports Administration from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. “I have always lived in rural communities. I understand and can easily get behind the mission of ruralMED. I look forward to offering support to ruralMED, its mission, the Cooperative and members.”
