Boone County Health Center

The Boone County Health Center, located in Albion, Nebraska is a recognized leader in providing a continuum of healthcare to the 10,000 rural residents in Boone, Antelope, Greeley, western Madison, Nance, western Platte, and Wheeler counties in north-central Nebraska for over sixty years. The Health Center and medical clinics are the singular and primary source of healthcare for the rural communities it serves. The hospital offers 25 all-private, spacious suites, five nursery layettes, and two family-oriented obstetrical suites. The Health Center is the hub for five medical clinics in the towns of Albion, Spalding, Newman Grove, Fullerton, and Elgin. The Health Center is a non-profit, county hospital that performs 60,000 procedures annually including laboratory, imaging, screenings, surgery, in-patient stays, obstetrics, outpatient procedures, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, and wellness management. Seven Family Practice physicians, seven physician-assistants, and two nurse practitioners staff the Health Center and satellite medical clinics. The Health Center also works in tandem with physicians across the state to offer over 15 professional outpatient clinics.

Fillmore County Hospital

Fillmore County Hospital (FCH) is a 20-bed Critical Access Hospital located in Geneva, NE.  In addition to the 20 acute beds, FCH operates an attached 10-bed Geriatric Inpatient Psych Unit – the only one of its kind among critical access hospitals across Nebraska.  This geri-psych unit is truly a statewide resource.  It has served patients in 80 of the 93 counties across Nebraska as well as all of the neighboring states that touch Nebraska’s borders.  FCH also has a unique commitment to behavioral health in the outpatient setting as well and has developed adult, geriatric, and school-based behavioral health therapy programs.  The hospital operates a 24/7 ER, the usual outpatient services, and a specialty clinic with over 25 different specialty providers available.  One of those services is the Touchstone Orthopedics program.  This program was founded by employed orthopedic surgeon Dr. Travis Stoner.  Dr. Stoner’s surgical practice uses state-of-the-art MAKO Robotic Assisted surgery on total joint repairs and reaches patients far outside the borders of Fillmore County.  FCH’s campus is relatively new – it was relocated to its current location right on highway 81 from the old landlocked location downtown on March 1, 2012.  FCH is planning an expansion and renovation project in 2021 and beyond to address growth in several clinical and support areas.  Work on this project is slated to start in late 2021 and will not be completed until 2023.
