Bio:

Burke Kline, DHA, MBA, MHA, CHFP, FACHE, has devoted his career to rural healthcare by helping to expand access to communities that otherwise would not have access to specialty providers. In addition, Dr. Kline continually focuses on improving and promoting the highest quality of care and customer service while strengthening and growing programs to meet the needs of rural communities.

Dr. Kline came to Jefferson Community Health and Life three years ago from Greeley County Health Services in Tribune, KS. Greeley County Health Services is designated as a “Frontier Critical Access Hospital,” which is designated to very remote hospitals, Dr. Kline served as CEO for four years. Before joining the Greeley County Health Services team, Dr. Kline served as Executive Assistant to the CEO and then Associate Administrator at Pawnee County Memorial Hospital in Pawnee City, Nebraska, over a 4-year tenure. Prior to his position at Pawnee County Memorial Hospital, Dr. Kline was a Deputy Sheriff in Gage County, Nebraska, for 7 years serving as Senior Road Deputy, K-9 Handler, SWAT Team leader, and Commander of the Major Crimes Unit.

Dr. Kline earned an undergraduate degree in Human Resource Management from Bellevue University, a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Bellevue University, a master’s degree in business administration from Bellevue University, a Doctorate in Healthcare Administration from Walden University, a post-doctorate in leadership and organizational development from the University of Oxford, and a second Post Doctorate in leadership and Management from Harvard Business School.

Dr. Kline is a board-certified Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Certified Healthcare Financial Professional, Certified Lean Black Belt, and Six Sigma Black Belt, in addition to Total Quality Management Professional certification.

Dr. Kline was awarded the American College of Healthcare Executives Regents Award in 2020 and MGMA’s “Extraordinary Leadership Award.” Dr. Kline has spoken at Harvard Business School covering topics related to innovations in leadership. Dr. Kline serves on many healthcare boards both locally and nationally, including the American College of Healthcare Executives national editorial board, Nebraska Hospital Association, and Heartland Health Alliance, to name a few.

Dr. Kline’s passion is encouraging others to further their education and to promote social change in healthcare.
